Yes, namely the so-called television adapters. How it works is simple. An adapter converts one connector type to another. With the right adapter, you can connect old devices with a Scart cable to an HDMI input on your modern Smart TV. But you can not only solve compatibility problems between old and new devices.

2. Connect the HDMI cable to your TV and Wii. Plug in the HDMI adapter to the HDMI port on your TV, then plug the other end into the back of your Wii console. 3. Turn on your TV and Wii. Once powered on, press the "Input" or "Source" buttons on your TV remote until you find the HDMI source that you plugged into.

Automatic SCART Switches. SCART leads have 21 pins, and are quite clever. Pin number 8 is called the ‘switching pin’, and when you turn on a piece of equipment, a change is made to the pin 8 signal. The upshot of this, is that some SCART switches can detect when a piece of equipment is turned on, and switch to that piece of equipment. I would also like to know if anyone has been able to connect the apple tv from the component output to a tv scart input. I have seen the cable online which would take the three video and two audio to a scart connector and so long as the tv scart socket is able to recieve RGB I think this should work. Thanks Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz Mac OS X (10.4.9)
There is no "simple" SCART to HDMI adapters as the two are not directly compatible so there is always going to be an active converter inside of them which means your picture quality, input lag, upscaling and so on depends entirely on how good of a quality that converter is.
Distinguished Member. May 2, 2011. #2. You cannot connect Scart to HDMI, as Scart is analogue and HDMI digital. It may be that your Scart connection box uses just composite video instead of RGB. Look for a better quality box that switches all the colours instead. Does your current box switch between inputs or does it just connect them together
Connect the HDMI cable to a separate port on the television. Replace the HDMI cable with another one. Lines are susceptible to shorting out or degrading over time. Inspect the pins on your linking device for bends. Check for damage to the HDMI port. If you see external damages, they are likely the source of the problem.
A. Yes, DisplayPort supports multi-channel audio and many advanced audio features. DisplayPort to HDMI adapters also include the ability to support HDMI audio. DVI output can carry audio to an HDMI input on most modern GPUs too, without needing an active adapter. Standard Member. Jan 17, 2018. #1. I am a Virgin Media customer and recently had the Tivo box replaced with the V6 box. The Tivo box had a AV Sender connected via scart cable which allowed me to watch the same program from the TV in the lounge on the TV in the kitchen. The V6 box has no scart connectivity and jsut 1 HDMI connection.

Much easier to buy a secondhand Sky box on Gumtree with a hmdi connector many are for sale cheaply (£20-£30 or thereabouts) as people upgrade to Sky Q, or even switch to another system making their old Sky box redundant. Careful selecting one as some people sometimes expect to sell an old Pace box 10 years old for £40.
SCART (from Syndicat des Constructeurs dAppareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs) is a French-originated standard and associated 21-pin connector for connecting audio-visual equipment together. It is also known as Péritel (especially in France) and Euroconnector. SCART makes it easy to connect AV equipment (including TVs, VCRs, DVD players .
